At the tender age of 6, I completely disassembled and successfully reassembled an old Western Electric telephone to working condition. Working with engines, mechanical and electrical items is a talent I was truly blessed with.
By age 9, I was helping my uncle Joe (a HUGE influence & mentor) do tune ups, oil changes and brake jobs on some 1960's and early 1970's automobiles.
Growing up, I had a neighbor who was a first class gentleman and a master electrician - needless to say he saw my ability and took me under his wing.
I took small engine classes in junior high school, then began fixing and rebuilding Tecumseh and Briggs & Stratton engines. As a teen, I started trash picking lawn mowers to repair and resell for money - and found it was quite profitable. My last formal schooling were auto shop classes in high school.
I began drag racing Pontiacs in the early 1980's and had some fine mentors (Mike K and his dad "Willie", Larry H, Tom S) who I have learned a LOT from, and I'm not only talking engine skills here - these guys work endlessly, breathe & love what they do. This has been a huge influence on my person and character that I practice and live by. Rebuilding automobile engines was my next progression, followed by being able to fine tune and properly troubleshoot just about anything - AND FIX IT.
You will be dealing with ONE PERSON, a one man business at the moment. I am the proprietor, mechanic, parts guy, salesman, secretary. I have been working part time with power equipment almost exclusively since 1998.
So there you have it.
I am also a moderator for The Best Snowblower & Lawnmower forum, it can be found at: www.opeonthenet.com
I'm looking forward to doing business with you - drop me a line if I can help with ANY of your power equipment needs. Peruse my buyer's guides for some education when the time comes to pull the trigger on a used machine.
Thank you!
